Lead singer of the iconic English rock band from 1990 until their first split in 1999, Richard Ashcroft left the infamously chaotic and bitter relations at least temporarily behind him and started forging his solo career. His first single, “A Song For The Lovers,” in 2000 went straight to number 3 in the UK charts. The subsequent album release, “Alone With Everybody,” was released to overwhelmingly positive reviews, went straight to number 1, and was instantly certified with platinum status!! Since then he was continued, in between the re-formation and re-disbanding of The Verve, to release his solo work to public and critical satisfaction, forming RPA & The United Nations of Sound as a pseudonym for his solo work without the Verve’s drummer in 2009.
