After 12 long years, hit New Zealand greats Crowded House have announced their first trip to North America since 2010. They will be coming to Fox Theater Oakland on Wednesday, 28th September, for one of the performances. The tour supports their 2021 release, Dreamers Are Waiting, which is also their first release in 12 years. Their fans have been delighted, and the album has been a huge hit. Frontman Neil Finn talked about picking up pace once again after such a long wait and is ready to deliver stellar performances for their fans. The tour kicks off on 2nd September from Philadelphia’s The Metropolitan Opera House and wraps up a month later in Vancouver’s BC Orpheum on 3rd October. The current band lineup features founding members Nick Seymour and Neil Finn, with producer Michell Froom and Neil’s two sons, Liam and Elroy. The tour features performances at notable destinations such as Detroit, New York, Durham, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, and many others. The New Zealand-based icons have performed throughout the world, and their 2022 World tour also features performances in Australia and Europe.
The band was formed in 1985 and remained active until 1996 before the band disbanded. They played several farewell concerts that year, leaving a lot of members in the audience to tears. In 2006, they reformed for another six years. They had significant success in their early years in Australia and New Zealand. Their self-titled debut album reached number 12 on the US Album chart and had a couple of huge hits, including “Don’t Dream It’s Over”, and “Something So Strong.” The band has numerously sold out some of the most iconic venues in the world, and a huge response is expected in their upcoming concerts as well.
